Frequently Asked Questions
My child can still see with glasses. Why consider myopia control now?
Myopia control focuses on protecting our children's eyes for the long term. While typical glasses correct vision, they don’t slow myopia progression. Every increase in myopia, even small, increases future eye health risks.
Is Ortho-K safe for children? How do I know if my children are suitable for Ortho-K?
Yes Ortho-K is safe when properly assessed, fitted, and monitored. Ortho-K has decades of clinical use worldwide and safety depends on clinical judgement, hygiene education, and regular follow-up.
Your child needs to be assessed to know if they are suitable for Ortho-K. While not every child may be suitable for Ortho-K, we structure our assessments to allow proper evaluation, discussions and questions.
How do I know you’re recommending what’s best, not what’s most expensive?
Just as we all need food to live, businesses need profits to survive. But most don't live just to eat, and we don’t run Kacee Eyecare just for money either.
We are a customer-centric optometry centre that focuses on preventive and proactive eye care. We will present the relevant options and proceed with the decision you are comfortable with. If something isn’t suitable, we’ll tell you honestly, for it is our duty as healthcare professionals to ensure you receive appropriate and high quality care.
Don’t just take our word. Check what others say through our Google Reviews. At Kacee Eye Care, we are all about building trust and giving you the best care possible.
What if I’m not sure what I need yet? What do I start with?
That’s completely normal. Most people start with a comprehensive eye exam that looks at their vision, eye health, and lifestyle needs.
We will then explain the results and discuss the various options before you decide.
Why is it important to see an optometrist?
Optometrists are your go-to professionals for eye care. They do more than just check your vision; they give your eyes a thorough health assessment.
Why is regular eye care important?
Think of regular eye care as a health check for your eyes. It helps keep your vision sharp and spots any potential problems early on.
How often should I get my eyes checked?
For adults, it is a good idea to get an eye exam every 1-2 years. Kids under 16 should have their eyes checked every year, and every 6 months if they are short-sighted.
